Susannah Neal is a nationally board certified Acupuncturist through the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) and is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of Maryland. She graduated from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver, CO (1999). She has worked in a variety of settings including private practice in Fort Collins, CO (1999-2009), McKee Medical Center in Loveland, CO (2001-2005), the Southwind Health Collective in Lawrence, KS (2009-2013). and was Director at the Southwest Acupuncture College, Boulder, CO (2013-15).Most recently she has been in private practice in Iowa City, Iowa until moving to Maryland in 2022. She is currently licensed in the state of Maryland (U02968).

Susannah has additional training in the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage and traveled to San Ignacio, Belize, to study with Rosita Arvigo in the early 2000’s. She completed the certification of the program in 2005. She also has studied Chi Nei Tsang with Gilles Marin and has completed over 50 hours of training.

Susannah  is a Usui/Tibetan Reiki Master and  Karuna Master. She uses Reiki in all of her sessions and also has taught Reiki and offers distance sessions upon request. She is a 200-hour trained yoga instructor and is also an advanced practitioner of Neelakantha meditation and a student of Paul Muller- Ortega and Blue Throat Yoga since 2015.

Susannah was born in Baltimore and raised on a farm in Taneytown, Carroll County, Maryland. In addition to her credentials in Chinese Medicine and healing modalities, Susannah earned a Bachelor’s Degree from George Washington University and Master’s Degree in Anthropology from the University of Florida. She met her husband while a graduate student in Florida and they moved to Colorado in 1990 and lived there for over 20 years. They also have lived in Lawrence, KS and Iowa City. She has had a continuous acupuncture practice and many clients over the years. In 2022, she and her husband returned to Maryland and could not be happier to be here! She and her husband enjoy their nieces and nephews and have been loving parents to 4 beautiful rescue dogs though currently they are “empty nesters”. They also like to travel and Susannah has spent extensive time in Peru, Belize, and Costa Rica. In 1985 Susannah travelled to Machu Pichu and other areas of Peru for over 3 months. Then in 2016 she was the Clinic Leader for a cultural healing exchange in the Sacred Valley of Peru where acupuncture was offered for local Quechua communities. In her free time you will find her practicing yoga and Neelankantha meditation, continuing her education in Chinese Medicine, growing house plants and tending a small native plant garden, visiting family and friends, and enjoying all the beauty and culture of Baltimore and Maryland.
